Camps
Take the challenge and participate in an Allergy 250K camp and meet other young adults living with severe food allergy, many of whom will become great friends.
When do we run Allergy 250K young adult camps?
The aim of the Allergy 250K young adult camps is to bring together young adults living with severe allergy, particularly food allergy. We also have Allergy 250K peer mentors participating in the camp. As these camps aim to connect young adults living with severe allergy, camp participants enjoy connecting with each other but also with our peer mentors. Our peer mentors all live with severe food allergy and have completed peer mentor training.
We understand that going on a camp is challenging for young adults with food allergy, particularly a camp where they don’t know the other campers. Our experience with these camps is that the campers connect with each other quickly and make new friends and . some stay in contact long after the camp has ended! The campers also get so much out of engaging not only with the peer mentors but also the other campers and the staff and volunteers who attend the camps.
We also offer peer mentor training at our young adult camps for those who think they might be interested in being an Allergy 250K peer mentor.
